Drawing upon a wealth of experience advising some of the world's most influential sports properties and blue-chip brands, Mr. O'Leary specializes in engineering and manufacturing omni-channel marketing platforms, orchestrating dynamic campaigns, and crafting turnkey corporate sponsorship blueprints.

Over the past 15+ years, Mr. O'Leary has honed his skills as a seasoned business development and integrated marketing professional, working with industry-leading agencies and thought leaders. This experience and knowledge have uniquely positioned him to spearhead marketing and corporate partnership endeavors for the United States Polo Association (USPA). During his tenure, Mr. O'Leary achieved significant milestones for USPA, including an innovative broadcast and digital distribution approach that laid the groundwork for Global Polo TV and USPA's Polo Network. He also spearheaded a "refined adrenaline" brand strategy, forged crucial corporate and strategic marketing relationships, amplified the organization's social media presence, bolstered PR and communications outreach, and orchestrated a highly successful national sponsorship program.

In 2015, Mr. O'Leary chose to take on the challenging role of Managing Director at the Oak Brook Polo Club, one of the world's most historic and venerable polo clubs. His mission was to rejuvenate the club's image and prominence while navigating intricate local politics and a fragmented polo community. After eight successful seasons, Mr. O'Leary accomplished his mission, reigniting interest in Oak Brook Polo and achieving record attendance and revenues through ticket sales and sponsorships. Furthermore, he played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Chicago Polo Association, which governs and organizes polo competitions throughout Chicagoland. In 2021, he assumed the role of Chairman for the organization.

 

In 2018, Mr. O'Leary founded Laoghaire Partners, a parent organization overseeing a diverse portfolio of sports marketing ventures, event properties, and humanitarian initiatives, all driven by his passion for sports, volunteering, and entrepreneurship. One notable endeavor under this umbrella is Outside The Boards, an agency dedicated to advancing the sport of polo, established in 2020. This agency has had the privilege of providing consulting services to polo clubs and teams and representing some of the nation's top professional polo players. Additionally, "Outside the Boards" is the name of the pioneering polo-themed podcast hosted by Mr. O'Leary, which has garnered over 10,000 listens to date.

Double majored in Marketing and Finance from the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business and was a Scholar Track & Field Athlete and Conference Champion as a 110m and 400m Hurdler.

SUPER BOWL XLV COUNTDOWN CONCERT

Dallas, TX

Produced Intersport's first concert event in partnership with NFL Films, the Dallas Cowboys and the Super Bowl XLV Host Committee. The concert took place at Cowboys Stadium in front of nearly 40,000 fans and feature 100 piece orchestra that performed iconic NFL Films scores to Cowboys video highlights from last 50 years.

UWM NEW VENTURE COMPETITION "WINNER"

Won the UWM Sheldon B. Lubar New Venture Competition grand prize for Mr. O'Leary's "Urban Golf Club" concept and business plan. A indoor golf, lifestyle and entertainment destination.

2011-2013

NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

Received a Masters in Sports Administration with a concentration on Management, Marketing and Communications from the highly credit program.

RETURN TO CECIL SMITH FIELD

After over year of negotiations with the Village of Oak Brook, Oak Brook Polo Club will return to its original Sunday polo field, the Cecil Smith Field, beginning in 2022 just in time for the Polo Club's centennial celebrations. 

USPA NYTS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Oak Brook Polo Club was awarded the United States Polo Association's prestigious National Youth Tournament Series National Championships. An All-Star Women's and Open Tournament featuring the nation's best youth polo players.

100TH ANNIVERSARY

Triumphantly led the Oak Brook Polo Club to its 100th Anniversary on a new field / venue, pumping new life into the Club and sport throughout Chicagoland. The 2022 Season saw record attendance and ticket and sponsorship revenue.

Recipient of DuPage County Historical Society's Centennial Award in honor of Oak Brook Polo Cub's 100th Anniversary milestone.
